Converse’s Square-Toe Sneaker Is Surprisingly Hiking-Coded
Dressy hiking shoes or hike-able dress shoes? Converse's newest release kind of checks both boxes, honestly.
Meet the All Star Square-Toe DR LE OX. It's essentially the brand's square-toe, low-top Chuck Taylors but with a classy, outdoorsy twist. It comes in two options: elegant brown suede or sleek black leather. Both feature gleaming D-ring eyelets and thick, rope-style laces like classic hiking boots.
It's basically Chucks mashed with dress shoes and Timberland's Field boots. And admittedly, it looks very good.
Of course, the All Star Square-Toe DR LE OX sneakers come straight from Converse Japan, which has not only released several other square-toe shoes but also thick-soled ballet sneakers and even Chuck Taylor heels. But as wild as these drops may sound (and some are), they often feature high-quality materials and touches that set them above the rest.
The outdoor-ready square-toe shoes are certainly up there, offering ultra-fine suede and leather designs accompanied by Converse's polished signature rubber soles.
The All Star Square-Toe DR LE OX shoes are scheduled to drop on October 23 on Converse Japan's website for ¥20,900, roughly $132.
