It turns out, sneaker brands can't get enough of Mary Janes. Whenever I turn around, an established sneaker brand like PUMA and adidas introduces a new hybrid shoe nodding to the enduring footwear style. And now, Converse has just entered the race.

Although Converse already had a few Chuck Taylor Mary Janes in its collection, the latest isn't anything like its previous efforts. This new Converse Mary Jane is HUGE.

Converse calls it the Chuck Taylor All-Star Lugged Heel Mary Jane Platform (whew, try saying that super fast). The model marries Mary Jane-style straps and classic Chuck 70 details, like the iconic All-Star license plate on the heel and traditional rubber toe cap.

However, the elevated sole is the most stunning part about the new Converse Mary Jane. The shoe features this incredibly chunked-up base with lug traction on the bottoms, bringing a dramatic and edgy vibe to the cutesy classic.

Another impressive detail was its premium full-grain leather uppers, taking this Chuck Taylor Mary Jane to luxe levels.

Converse's stacked Mary Janes may be new to the party, but the brand is quite experienced in the chunky shoe field. Recall the brand's beefy-soled Run Star Hike sneakers that were everywhere a few years back or even those recent massive "dad shoe" runners.

Converse has also created generously chunky Bottega-ish boots and summer-ready sandals, once again making these footwear staples bigger than ever (literally). The brand even has a loafer with a similarly stacked platform lug sole like its new Mary Janes.

And as we speak, Converse's platform Mary Janes — those loafers, too — are now available on the brand's website in classic black and white colorways.

Watch out for the Mary Jane girlies wearing these stompers.
