Editor’s Notes: HANON and Diadora have teamed up on a new co-branded version of the latter’s iconic N9000.  The "Alternative Route" N9000 is a continuation of the "Saturday Special" theme established on the duo’s 2014 N9000 reease.

The theme is a nod to football culture and the popularity of Italian sportswear in the UK during the 1980s. Back then, train services as the “Football Special” meant that away fans would arrive at games unharmed, and ensured separation between the two sets of fans whenever possible.

The teal green and marine blue with red and black accents of this year’s HANON x Diadora N9000 is an homage to those trains. HANON's flame logo brands the pair on the heel and tongue to complete the design.

Additionally, the sneaker boasts premium materials inspired by the Italian sportswear brand's buttery football boots and '80s tennis shoes. Nappa leather is paired with pigskin overlays and closed mesh to deliver a luxe reimagining of the '90s running sneaker. The HANON x Diadora N9000 is handcrafted at the original Diadora factory in the Montebelluna district of Caerano di San Marco.
