Editor’s Notes: Athletic shoe company HOKA ONE ONE is known for its outlandish designs. After all, we're talking about the brand that largely brought the chunky midsole into the mainstream.

Earlier this year, HOKA launched an all-new runner called the TenNine, which features an eye-catching extended heel. Now, the sneaker is being outfitted for mountaineering, as the brand presents the TenNine Hike GTX.

HOKA has referred to the TenNine Hike GTX as half hovercraft, half hiking shoe, ultimately referencing the aforementioned heel unit. The silhouette is specifically designed to propel you forward and make hiking feel noticeably smoother.

The TenNine Hike GTX provides you with unmatched cushioning, durability, and grip, with its extended Hubble heel geometry. With a focus on sustainability, it uses GORE-TEX Leaf product technology for the waterproof inner shoe, shaft, lacing system, and heel tab.

“The TenNine Hike GTX broadens our legacy in the mountains and on the trail by expanding on our hiking line, and continues the innovative arc that has already helped us reimagine how performance footwear can look and feel," said Gretchen Weimer, VP of Product. "It calls upon the cushion and smooth ride that have always characterized our shoes and adds some new features that make the TenNine Hike GTX a product in its own league. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say this is the future of hiking.”
