After talks of literal smashing interpretations of the Jordan 1 High "Black Toe," it turns out that the iconic sneaker's return isn't all it is cracked up to be. Stick with me. I'll explain. But lucky for you, that's it for the bad puns.

2024's Air Jordan 1 High OG "Black Toe Reimagined" sneaker has finally emerged, thanks to early looks at the highly anticipated shoe, currently penciled to release during the fall season.

In detailed imagery, the "Black Toe" Jordan 1s are actually crack-free, despite initial rumors of them having shattered detailing. Indeed, the leather is extra crisp and smooth-looking in these early views, painted in those nostalgic red, white, and black colors.

Interestingly, the "Black Toe Reimagined" Jordan 1s features a new black tongue, whereas the original 1985 pairs boasted a white tongue (the 2016 re-release too).

Like its other Reimagined mates, the "Black Toe" 1s have some vintage-level touches. The Jordan 1s are particularly rounded out with intentionally yellowed soles, the same as those seen on the most recent Chicago 1s and White Cements 3s

The "Black Toe Reimagined" Jordan 1s introduce a new detail to the iconic shoe: a wingless collar! Essentially, it's bye-bye to the traditional Jumpman Wings symbol (just for this drop). And wave hello to a simple "Air Jordan" stamp, a subtle homage to the "Black Toe" Jordan 1s famously slung over Michael Jordan's shoulder in an old campaign photo.

Some weren't immediately drawn to the "reimagined" detail, but a few dedicated Jordan enthusiasts recognize the cultural significance and eagerly anticipate adding this (basically) piece of sneaker history to their collection. Well, that's if they can successfully add-to-cart on drop day.

Speaking of, the Air Jordan 1 High "Black Toe Reimagined" is expected to launch on October 18 on Nike's SNKRS app. As with previously hyped Jordan drops (Military Blue Jordan 4s come to mind), we can probably expect a shock drop before launch day.

Fingers and toes crossed for the Black Toes.
