What We’re Saying: Lanvin's 1990s/2000s skate-inspired sneaker, the Leather Curb, is back in a new selection of colors so you can live out your skater boy fantasies all summer long.

Previously referred to as a “high-end reinterpretation of mid-’00s skate shoes, more specifically the Osiris D3” by Highsnobiety, the Leather Curb debuted at Paris Fashion Week FW20. While many were drawn to the overall look of the sneaker initially, one questioned remained: how does it skate? “They’re big and bad like the Big Bad Wolf,” Evan Mock told Highsnobiety, while photographer RAYSCORRUPTEDMIND added, "They definitely feel like an old school skate shoe, and since they’re bulky they will last forever.”

The Leather Curb is constructed from premium materials including nappa calfskin leather, suede, and mesh. With its rounded shape and padded tongue, the silhouette stands out for its extreme comfortability. One signature element of the shoe emerges via thick double waxed and herringbone laces, which are inspired by woven accessories used with Japanese kimonos.
