You'll more than likely have spotted the wave of translucent bags continuing to show up in SS19 collections, but Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Martine Ali is taking showing off your belongings to new heights with its latest output. Now available at SSENSE, these rectangular metal cages are taking the see-through side bag game to another level.

Known for bringing back the heavy chains of early 2000s hip-hop, Chicago-born Martine Ali has previously been commissioned to design pieces for DKNY. Now specializing in men's jewelry, two of the new bags incorporate the signature heavy chain designs with bulky metal clasps, while the third features a detachable and adjustable seatbelt-style webbing shoulder strap.

While the pieces – which each come with a price tag of $670 – don't quite offer the same functionality as a clear PVC crossbody bag, all make an instant statement. What's more, along with the ability to store belongings such as your wallet and phone, these bags could double as a happy home for your pet snake or canary.
