All trails lead to the Moncler Trailgrip; that much was made evident when we threw a launch experience for the Trailgrip GTX Low-Top sneaker in Milan last month. The shoe marked the latest step in the Moncler evolution, representing the many ways in which the brand continues to embrace its mountain and design DNA.

Although the first model to launch, the 1952 x Trailgrip, sold out in less than 24 hours, the journey is only just beginning as three more Trailgrip silhouettes are on the way: the Trailgrip GTX High, the Trailgrip Après, and the Trailgrip Après High. And, as you can see in the lookbook images, these shoes are far from simple classics. In fact, they might be Moncler's boldest footwear designs yet. So naturally, we're obsessed.

Placed beside each other, it's clear that the capsule's line-up is extremely varied, but every shoe has been designed with a unifying agenda: "To make light of challenging outdoor terrain." In other words, these are all-weather resistant beasts; function-first styles that are coded with Moncler signifiers and created in partnership with industry leaders in outdoor wear including GORE-TEX, Vibram, and Codura.

Up first is the Trailgrip GTX High, which is more of a hiking shoe than its Low-Top counterpart (which is better described as a trail shoe and can be checked out in detail here in case you missed it). Of course, it carries the chunky, sleek vibe of the low, and also boasts a rugged sole inspired by maximum-traction mountain bike tires.

However, this version really reflects Moncler's proud mountaineering history, plucking design queues from the Italian brand's extensive catalog of contemporary hiking boot-inspired styles. It's also super durable thanks to a stacked materials line-up featuring premium leather, Nubuck, Cordura, GORE-TEX waterproofing and breathable membrane, and a TecTuff rubber rand for additional reinforcement.

Meanwhile, the Trailgrip Après and Trailgrip Après High are a tougher take on plusher alpine snowboot —  the sole is crafted from hallmark Vibram MEGAGRIP, which gives the wearer extra strong footing both on and off the slopes. The High version is also decked out with a GORE-TEX membrane, making it extremely waterproof. Both styles incorporate the signature boudin stitching as found on Moncler's classic quilted jackets, making them must-cops for all die-hard fans of the brand.

All silhouettes arrive in a range of colorways, including black, white, dusty beige, navy, and earthy green.

As a whole, the Trailgrip collection is a jewel in Moncler's ever-expanding roster of outdoor icons. From the inception of Moncler Genius through to 2020's Stone Island acquisition, the latest drop is just further proof that the brand will continue to cement itself as the forerunner of luxury mountain wear.

The collection is available on the Highsnobiety Shop, check the shoes out below.
