Editor’s Notes: After NBA rookie Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies debuted the sneaker in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Nike officially unveiled the second iteration of its self-lacing basketball shoe, the Adapt BB 2.0. The Adapt BB 2.0 is designed to enhance on-court play, improving on the design principles of its predecessor.

First and foremost, Nike made the Adapt BB 2.0 easier to put on by removing the Flyknit shroud, opening up the collar, and integrating a stretchable ballistic mesh throughout the upper. The midsole stack height has then been reconfigured to offer a better ride, while Air Zoom Turbo in the forefoot provides a bouncier court feel. From an aesthetic standpoint, the sneaker now incorporates a combination of pixelated textures, notably showcased on the larger Swoosh design.

Nike is scheduled to release the anticipated Adapt BB 2.0 on February 16. You can also look forward to Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson wearing the innovative sneaker to start the WNBA regular season.
