Nike’s Shox Dress Sneaker Is Extra Sophisticated in “Quiet Luxury” Clothes
Just when you thought the Nike Shox Z couldn't get any classier, Nike goes full quiet luxury mode with the dress-tech sneaker.
Nike's "Smoke Grey" Shox Z sneaker enters the chat as easily the most minimalist version of the model yet. Mind you, the Shox Z's standard design is already pretty pared-down compared to other Shox sneakers exploding with flashy Y2K flavor. Nike stripped it down even more.
The uppers have been smoothed out, leaving a matte, all-grey leather setup with a few lines. At the same time, there's also now an embedded Swoosh detail, as if someone had plucked the original 3D logo straight off the side.
It's still techy, complete with the signature bouncy Shox columns in the heel. But this new version of the Shox Z is cleaner, dressier, and grey-er than ever.
The Nike model debuted in 2025, arriving as the dressiest Shox model we've seen since Martine Rose's techy mule hybrids. But the Shox Z is a regular in-line product made for everyday.
Nike has released several nice colorways, further elevating its "dress sneaker" status. Plus, the brand introduced a few trendier versions, like the ballet-style sneaker made in collaboration with Naked. There was also the "Year of the Horse" Shox Z, which got a full, couture-level embellishment.
Now, it's an extra-low-key and luxe dress shoe.
Lucky for fans, the Nike Shox Z "Smoke Grey" sneaker is now up for grabs on the brand's website for $150.
