Nike Vomero 18 Stun For A Run Through Berlin's Tiergarten
Berlin summer is finally here and what better way to celebrate than seeing the best of the city's sites? This past Saturday, Berlin’s Tiergarten transformed into a runway of rhythm and style as Zalando x Nike celebrated a chance for our Berlin community to trial the Vomero 18—its most cushioned road-running shoe to date. But this wasn’t your average jog through the park. From a curated styling session to a scenic group run past some of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks, the event was a full-on immersion into what comfort, performance, and self-expression can look like in motion.
The day began at Highsnobiety's flagship store on Unter den Linden, where guests were welcomed with energizing drinks and a first look at the Vomero 18. At the heart of the experience was Berlin stylist and creative Theresa Gross, who she curated a selection of Nike running performance looks. Known for blending athletic function with streetwise fashion, Gross helped runners select curated Nike running fits that matched their energy — from subtle neutrals to eye-popping accents.
Thought you were excited by the drop on its own? What about rare colorways too? A standout moment of the day was the reveal of a Zalando-exclusive neon pink edition of the Vomero 18—a bold, effervescent take on the silhouette that captures both the intensity and joy of running.
Once styled and geared up, runners took off from the store, jogging past Berlin's historic Brandenburger Tor and the grand Reichstag building, before heading into the green expanse of Tiergarten. With the city’s rich cultural heritage framing every step, the run set the perfect stage for the Vomero 18’s big day out.
Throughout the sunny group run, the Vomero 18 proved itself more than ready for the spotlight. Engineered for maximum cushioning, the shoe features a 46mm stack height (the tallest in the Vomero line) and a dual-foam combination of ZoomX and ReactX. The resulting run is a cloud-like ride that still delivers a snappy, responsive feel.
“This is what running should feel like,” one guest noted mid-stride. “It’s soft but still feels fast. And the rocker sole just rolls you forward.”
The shoe’s rocker geometry, combined with an engineered mesh upper for breathability and rubber outsole for traction, gave runners a smooth, steady ride from concrete to park path. Designed with insights from women runners and built to suit all genders, the Vomero 18 is Nike runnings’s boldest comfort-forward road shoe yet.
After the run, attendees cooled down back at the UDL Store with a vegan feast, recovery drinks, and some curated tunes. Three lucky guests walked away with more than just a runner’s high: a full Nike running outfit from Zalando, handpicked by Theresa Gross herself.
Even off the track, the Vomero 18 continued to turn heads. Whether in classic colorways or the exclusive neon pink version, runners couldn’t stop raving about the look and feel. The silhouette's sculptural curves, breathable textures, and dynamic heel lift offered both form and function — a sneaker that makes as much sense at the coffee shop as it does on kilometer eight.
The launch of the Vomero 18 also marks a new chapter in Nike running’s approach to road-running footwear. As part of a streamlined lineup, it stands alongside two other redefined icons: the Pegasus, for responsive energy return, and the Structure, for supportive stability.
“We heard from runners that they want simplicity and clarity when choosing footwear,” says Marian Dougherty, Senior Director of Global Running Footwear. “So we’ve built our lineup around one core idea: the type of cushioning runners love most.”
With the Vomero 18, Nike running has ushered in a new era of running, one where cushion doesn’t mean compromise, and where style meets substance on every step. Whether you came for the run, the fashion, the free gear, the takeaway was the same: running has never felt (or looked) this good.
