Editor’s Notes: The past few months have seen Nike's most talked about sneakers come alongside collaborators Martine Rose, A-COLD-WALL*, Fear of God, and OFF-WHITE, to name a few.

But, in the midst of all of all this hype, you'd be forgiven for overlooking some of the general releases hitting stores from the Swoosh. Don't get it twisted — Nike's lower key output is more than holding its own, and this recent Zoom 2K is living proof.

Inspired by Nike's Alpha Project in the late ’90s, the sneakers combine a retro look with modern updates such as Zoom Air cushioning. Featuring a leather and textile upper, the Zoom 2Ks also arrive with rubber wings that wrap from the sole to the upper for improved stability, as well as an extra chunky heel and branding that pays homage to the early ’00s.

And having recently been spotted in a dyed purple custom in Pigalle's Paris Fashion Week runway show, it seems some of fashion's most in the know are picking up on the dopeness of this new silhouette. "For me, it's a mix between the Presto and the TN," says Highsnobiety Shopping curator Nigel Minani. "It's a really great shoe in every way, and I hope to see some interesting collaborations on this one!"

For now, the kicks remain stocked at Nike in six colorways — white/black, all-black, white/lily, blue/white/orange, light grey/dark grey, and white/red — for the super affordable price tag of just $85.

Take a look at each colorway below, and click through to cop the sneakers before the hype brigade catches on.
