October's Very Own

No such thing as too much of a good thing for October's Very Own, as OVO extends its partnership with Japanese footwear label Suicoke to encompass even more collaborative footwear.

Though this is a seasonal drop categorized as Spring/Summer 2022, OVO x Suicoke's latest team-up is also recognized as Chapter II in their ongoing partnership, leaving the door open for more joint efforts down the road.

And I'd expect plenty more where these came from — OVO chief Drake is full-on cozy these days (perhaps too cozy) so can't imagine him wanting to slow the Suicoke slip-on roll.

The OVO x Suicoke SS22 line, dropping on March 4 via Suicoke's website and OVO's web-store, comprises two shoes in four colorways: a puffy PEPPER Low and ultra-thicc BOWER Boot, each realized a unique workwear-y finish (safety orange and woodland camo complete with owl) and muted black.

It's a slight step away from Suicoke's own SS22 designs, which focus on sculptural shapes and earthy hues but all of the new Suicoke stuff is united by an ardent desire to be comfortable.

And, really, two years into a pandemic, why not indulge in ease?

Suicoke recently rolled out a transformable collaboration with Doublet, speaking to a similar sense of ease.

Meanwhile, Drake has had footwear on the brain with his Nike NOCTA Hot Step and "Certified Lover Boy"-themed AF1 each prepped to drop in the coming weeks.

Perhaps he's planning to unwind between Nike production meetings by stepping into these insulating Suicokes. If so, he's gonna have to make the most of mild Canadian summer, because these bad boys will likely not be getting any play come July or August.

They would be pretty badass house shoes, though.
