Our Legacy/Denim Tears
1 / 3

An Our Legacy x Denim Tears collaboration dedicated to Tupac Shakur is admittedly a little unexpected, but it kinda feels like the collection we didn’t know we needed.

Following on from the pair’s three-way collaboration alongside Stüssy last year, OL and Denim Tears are reuniting for the first time in 2023 and, in turn, paying homage to the late rapper.

Officially titled TUPAC TEARS LEGACY, the collaboration — which has been developed together with the Shakur Estate — is described as a celebration of Tupac’s life in the form of a collection inspired by both his music and style.

Even since Tupac’s death in 1996, the rapper has continued to influence artists and designers around the world thanks to his idiosyncratic sense of style and the legacy he left on music.

TUPAC TEARS LEGACY honors the rapper’s laid-back approach to denim with a Denim Tears x Levi’s signature 501 and trucker jacket, the latter featuring a series of silver studs.

Through Our Legacy ́s custom silhouettes and fabrics the pair have also reimagined Tupac’s array of now-iconic leather ensembles, as well as a range of printed shirts, hockey jerseys, engineer boots, and, naturally, a velvet suit.

For Tremaine Emory’s Denim Tears, this collection marks the label’s first high-profile release of 2023 following last year’s Stüssy collab, ahead of its much anticipated follow-up FW23 Dior Tears capsule designed in tandem with Kim Jones in the coming months.

Similarly, Our Legacy has had a fairly subdued first quarter of 2023 too, with a slew of mainline collections joined only by, you guessed it, another Stüssy capsule.
