Sports style has an interesting past. Overt displays of wealth have typically left no room for any form of interesting, personal style save for the special few — Rodman, we miss you. That said, recent years have seen the NBA become a hotbed for bold style, with names like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Russell Westbrook, and more proving that there’s more to an athlete’s wardrobe than there used to be. Few, though, can rival PJ Tucker, who just reasserted himself as the king of walk-in fits with a full Marni mohair ensemble.

Tucker is a well-known sneakerhead, regularly breaking out rare, grailed kicks for walk-ins and even in-game sometimes. He matches his penchant for IYKYK footwear with an equally high-end taste in apparel. This has never been more obvious than when he walked into the Capital One Arena in Washington on Halloween.

Tucker paired a bold, rainbow-stripe Marni mohair sweater with matching mohair pants for a seriously bold finish. On the feet, Tucker opted to keep things toned down with a pair of box-fresh Nike Air Force 1s — a sensible choice against the rainbow mohair backdrop.

As for accessories, Tucker echoed the colors of the Marni two-piece with two Goyard bags accompanied by a large, iced-out Cuban-link chain and a retro green corduroy cap.

Love it or hate it, it’s definitely better than the Dolce & Gabbana and Philip Plein-stacked fits we got ten years ago. PJ Tucker is diving into his personal style, exploring texture and bold color with finesse. Most important of all, you can tell that he’s having fun with it.
