PUMA Made Open-Toe Slingbacks Out of Its Coolest Sneaker
The PUMA Speedcat is evolving. The ubiquitous sneaker has appeared in many forms and designs since making a comeback. And for its next trick, it becomes a summer-ready sandal.
It's even named the Speedcat Sandal, and it's essentially the Speedcat Ballet with an open toe set-up. It's also even more breathable, thanks to PUMA cutting out some extra parts of the upper.
True to its name, the Speedcat Sandal features many signature details from the OG it-sneaker. It maintains that low-soled vibe and velvety upper construction, topped with the brand's famous leaping cat logo and the iconic Formstripe.
It's just now ready for casual Summer Fridays at the office.
PUMA brought back the Speedcat in 2024, and it instantly became the coolest reborn sneaker around town, co-signed by style forces like Jennifer Lawrence and A$AP Rocky. The sportswear brand has since introduced new versions of the popular sneaker, including a Speedcat Mid and a Speedcat knee-high sneaker boot.
The label also recently launched the Speedcat Wedge, an Isabel Marant-coded sneaker wedge, which sold out everywhere.
Now, the Speedcat's in its slingback sandal era.
PUMA's Speedcat Sandal is already available on the brand's Indonesian website for Rp 1.199.000, or around $71. With hope and prayers, maybe we'll see the sandals get a wider release this spring.
