Editor's Notes: From natural dyes to militaristic quilting, Reebok's Fall/Winter 2021 Beatnik experiments have been especially solid. Heck, nothing less than a series of slappers, if you ask me.

The perfect capper to Reebok's series of slam dunks has arrived as the final Beatnik drop of 2021. Here, Reebok dishes the heeled mule in three versatile colorways — red, white, and black — and reiterates some of the quilting that it tinkered with this past summer.

All well and good but the real kicker is the PrimaLoft Gold insulation, which guarantees that these Beatniks are Reebok's warmest and most padded to date.

Water-resistant ripstop nylon and jersey lining add to the upper's all-season comfort. Finally, sandals to wear year-round.

Between the groovy pair designed with British label Story MFG., the suede set, and initial Cordura edition, loads of looks for the covetable Beatnik sandal have emerged over the past year and change, tapping into the current feeding frenzy for mules.

Though Reebok isn't the only company making brilliant backless shoes, it's really tripling down on the style.

I'm all for it. Let's leave laces in the past and embrace the ease of slip-on shoes. Thankfully, the Beatnik caters to this kind of carefree lifestyle: its 2020 redesign now includes pairs that have removable heel straps.
