What We’re Saying: Salehe Bembury has been teasing his new collaboration with New Balance since earlier in the year. More recently, he took to Instagram to share previews of the forthcoming 2002R, and now, New Balance has finally come through with official images and release information for the much-anticipated collab.

Bembury's second reimagining of the silhouette, the new 2002R is called “Water Be The Guide,” inspired by a recent trip to Havasu Falls, which is located in the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Shifting from the desert to water — as his previous 2002R took design cues from Arizona's Antelope Canyon — “Water Be The Guide” boasts a deep teal colorway that is meant to show the juxtaposition of the cold and warm colors of Havasu Falls.

Hairy suede, leather, and mesh make up the material composition of the 2002R, which pairs the 2002 upper with a 860v2 sole unit. On the side of the sneaker, you will find a shearling "N" logo that brands the pair in distinctive fashion.

Bembury once again tapped actor Jesse Williams to star in the campaign for his new 2002R collab, as he utilized Instagram to premiere the visual. You can watch it below, and be on the lookout for the “Water Be The Guide” colorway to release through beaspunge.com on June 24 at 10 a.m. PST before launching globally on June 25.
