Editor’s Notes: adidas Consortium teams up with South African retailer Shelflife on a special-edition ZX4000. This marks the first time that adidas has partnered with Shelflife, which was first launched in 2006 and has blazed a streetwear trail in South Africa via its Johannesburg and Cape Town stores.

Shelflife’s version of the ZX4000 sees the silhouette wrapped in, what at first glance look like modest materials and colors but, at closer inspection, are actually premium quality nubuck and woven fabrics. This is further highlighted by the jacquard-pattern print on the medial side, which is hidden until you take a closer look. The woven fabric underlays serve as a nod to the historic craftsmanship of South Africa.

Check out the sneaker in detail above and watch for it to drop on April 20 for $150.
