Editor’s Notes: Snow Peak and New Balance are following last year's collaboration with an upcoming joint effort that introduces an all-new footwear silhouette in the Niobium Concept 1.

Coming from New Balance's Tokyo Design Studio, the Niobium is named after the 41st element on the periodic table. The element is resistant to numerous chemicals and is capable of being molded at low temperatures. Such versatility carries over to the Snow Peak x New Balance Niobium Concept 1.

Adhering to a camp fishing theme, the shoe is designed for use while camping or in the city. The Niobium easily transforms from waterproof boot to outdoor sandal to slipper, as various elements can be removed. The sage green colorway of the Snow Peak x New Balance Niobium draws from the moss and rocks of mountain streams.

In addition to the Niobium, Snow Peak and New Balance are also offering an apparel capsule. Falling in line with the fishing theme, this portion includes a multi-pocket vest, T-shirts and shorts, waders, and gaiters that can attach to the shoes.
