A Slim adidas Sneaker’s Ballerina Era Finally Comes to Fruition
Thanks to Taipei label Fruition, the adidas Tokyo is now a super-elegant ballerina sneaker.
Technically, it already was one. The adidas Tokyo Mary Jane pushed the model into ballet territory about a year ago. But the latest collaboration with the overseas luxury store makes it official. It's even called the Tokyo Ballerina.
Fruition's effort is also very luxe. The brand dresses its adidas sneaker in top-notch suede, stitched leather Stripes, and silky quilted insoles. It also opts for sheer ribbons for shoelaces instead of Mary Jane straps and standard lace-ups.
The Tokyo Ballerina also features a scrunched look, similar to Song for the Mute's 2026 Samba collab. With the Tokyo, the design choice give the model a more genuine ballet-shoe feel.
And no need to add flat soles, since the adidas Tokyo was born with them.
It's not Fruition's first rodeo with adidas. The label has dished out dainty, albeit deluxe, sneakers with the sportswear brand in the past, resulting in exquisite pink Tubular Elastic and EQT Lacing ADV.
Now, it's turning sporty adidas classics into fine ballet sneakers.
Right now, Fruition's adidas Tokyo Ballerina sneaker is available in leopard print and brown. They're both up for grabs on Footdistrict's website for 100€, roughly $111.
