adidas Put Its Seriously Slim Gazelle Sneaker on a Stricter Diet
A standard adidas Gazelle is quite slim. But a Gazelle Lo Pro? Well, that's the lowest of lows.
Clad in a muted beige, adidas' Gazelle Lo Pro shoe is a calm approach to one of the biggest trends in the footwear space right now: Skinny sneakers. That's right, Ozempic is coming for our sneakers too.
While the mass-shrinking of shoes far and wide is a more recent phenomenon, adidas is far from new to the slim-shoe game.
adidas has long been the purveyor of flat-shoe stardom. From the Gazelle to the Samba and any skinny sneaker in between, adidas exists as the de-facto yardstick against which all other slim sneakers are measured.
But now, when every brand has a skinny, and skinnier than skinny shoe at the ready, adidas has to go the extra mile to set itself apart. What better way to do that than taking an already skinny sneaker down a size or two?
A collaboration with Japanese brand Spick & Span, adidas’ Gazelle Lo Pro wears a slimmer outsole than its predecessor, but besides the slimmer disposition, this sneaker wears all the hallmarks of a true Gazelle.
That famous soft suede upper and rounded T-toe box is also accounted for. So sure the size changed up a bit, but elsewhere the Lo Pro, available on the adidas website for $120, is an OG Gazelle sneaker through and through.
