SUICOKE

The cup of off-putting footwear runneth over, and SUICOKE's Vibram FiveFingers collab with Midorikawa is another drop in this very weird bucket.

The line between overtly repulsive shoes and stylistic footwear has been getting blurrier by the day (thank you, Spanx heels), and this Bigfoot-inspired drop is muddling the distinction even more.

The drop, available on SUICOKE’s website on October 26, features three styles: the low-cut "NIN-LO," the mid-top "NIN-HI," and the "SUPER-HI."

The statement-making shoes look like they came straight out of Halloweentown, which is pretty perfect timing. You know, spooky season and such.

All three styles are constructed with furry, cryptid-inspired uppers and demarcated toes, complete with toenails polished to match —  because who says Bigfoot can’t get a pedicure every once in a while?

Despite most of the shoes looking like an anatomically correct cross between a Marni Fussbett slide and a Vibram V-Run, the high-top boots in the collection kind of eat. Yes, unironically. In fact, the SUPER-HI fur boots resemble the outrageously furry footwear models tumbled (literally) down the runway in during AVAVAV's Spring/Summer 2023 runway presentation.

SUICOKE has been trying and succeeding (among younger fans, at least), in getting toe shoes to become beacons of fashion prowess. This latest collab with Midorikawa just took things to even weirder and furrier heights.

Super hairy toes might not be first of mind when it comes to cute shoes — but if your footwear doesn't kind of gross you out, what even is the point?
