Double Tap to Zoom

At its heart, Creators Lab is a study in transformation—a meeting point between imagination and material. Swarovski invited a group of forward-thinking brands to create their own brand new designs through crystal, turning symbols of culture and design into radiant expressions of emotion and craft. The result is a body of work that reflects the beauty of contrast: precision meeting spontaneity, tradition meeting play.

Each collaboration tells a story of duality and dialogue. Off-White™ bridges the worlds of street and couture; BAPE® fuses energy and elegance; PUMA refines motion through light; and Gufram captures the surreal in form. Together, these perspectives illuminate a shared belief that creativity, like crystal, is multifaceted, refracting the essence of creativity through every surface it touches. We spoke with the collaborators about their design process and how each brought their vision to life through crystal.

Off-White™

When crystal meets fabric, what needs to be considered when making them work together?

At Off-White™, we believe in the power of tension—high and low, street and couture, fashion and design. Merging one of our most beloved items, the hoodie—a universal symbol of belonging—with Swarovski’s high-end crystals was a natural evolution. The juxtaposition between the recognizable Arrow logo and refined crystal embellishment celebrates contrast and connection.

How do you make the garment and embellishment work in harmony without one overpowering the other?
Harmony is achieved through intentional contrast and restraint. Crystals should echo the garment’s rhythm rather than compete with it—tracing lines or emphasizing movement. When proportion and context align, a bold motif can elevate minimalist tailoring, while structure supports richer decoration. True balance emerges when fabric and crystal share the same narrative—where raw meets refined and the everyday becomes extraordinary.

Gufram

How did Swarovski’s precision craftsmanship play into the sense of surrealism and impossibility that define Gufram?

Swarovski’s artistry breathed new life into the Guframini CACTUS®. Their crystals transformed the familiar silhouette into something unexpectedly luminous—catching and scattering light in playful, almost mischievous ways. The piece dances between reality and imagination, blending humor, imagination, and mastery into something both fantastical and alive.

Did the collaboration reveal any unexpected softness or playfulness in hard materials—or vice versa?

Absolutely. The CACTUS® holds a charming tension between toughness and approachability. The crystals, though inherently hard, seem to breathe with light, giving the piece a lively, playful spirit. It’s a dance of contrasts—solidity touched by fluidity, rigidity softened by sparkle—a reminder that even the most unyielding materials can surprise.

BAPE®

How did Swarovski’s brilliance influence BAPE’s signature motifs?

We treated Swarovski’s sparkle as a design material in itself. Adding crystals to BAPE’s signature motifs—such as College and Shark—creates movement, reflections, and shadow play that reveal new dimensions as the piece is worn.

How did you achieve harmony between refinement and bold design?

Through tone-on-tone crystal work on a black base, Swarovski’s precision craftsmanship found harmony within BAPE’s bold design language. The shimmering crystals amplify our motifs without overpowering them, resulting in a timeless varsity jacket where luxury and street perfectly converge.

Loop Earplugs

Sound and light both move through vibration—did that shared language influence your design?

Absolutely. Both sound and light travel through vibration, and this piece had to perform on both levels. Inside, we kept our core Loop tech—precision acoustic channels, meshes, and membranes that filter sound without dulling experience. Outside, we 3D-printed a metal shell, chrome-plated it, and finished it with Swarovski’s octagon crystals—each hand-set to reflect light from every angle. It was a constant dialogue between sound and shine. Working closely with Swarovski’s design team, every detail became part of a sensory performance—tech meeting jewelry.

Protection and adornment are rarely considered together. How did you combine these ideas?

That’s exactly what we set out to change. Ear protection has long been functional but invisible. We wanted to make it personal—wearable and desirable. With Swarovski, we reimagined protection as adornment. Earwear becomes jewelry. Function becomes expression. Hearing health, for once, gets its moment in the spotlight.

PUMA

How do the mechanics of motion in PUMA design echo the way Swarovski crystals play with light?

Both motion and light rely on flow and precision. For the Swarovski Speedcat project, we created a design that feels fast even when still—letting crystals reflect movement the way light dances on speed.

Speed and precision are both performance qualities, how did they translate into your design process?

There’s a methodology we apply to many high-performance racing products during the creation process. We strip away all unnecessary details, leaving only the essentials you need to perform at your best. For our Swarovski Speedcat project, we wanted to create “space” for maximum impact of the crystals.

This meant applying the same formula: reducing as many cut lines as possible, re- engineering the upper without overlays to allow full crystal coverage, and selecting specific translucent crystals so our beautiful logo could shine through. It demanded the highest level of precision throughout the building process.

Did the collaboration challenge your perception of what athletic design can feel like—emotionally, not just functionally?

I wouldn’t call it a challenge, but it definitely created an amazing moment of surprise. From the theoretical concept phase to building the sample and finally unpacking the prototype, those were truly stunning moments for me and the team. You open the box and the result is so much better than you expected; all the ideas came together and worked out. That’s an emotional moment, and it doesn’t happen all the time.

Oakley

How did introducing Swarovski crystals shift your understanding of what it means to “see differently”?

Just like Oakley, Swarovski has always been guided by a pioneering spirit - one that challenges convention and transforms vision into art. When the two brands came together to celebrate Swarovski’s milestone anniversary (in the very same year Oakley marked its 50th), it felt like more than a coincidence. This collaboration didn’t so much shift our perception as it added to it - allowing two worlds, equally devoted to innovation and brilliance, to merge into one iconic expression of what it truly means to “see differently.”

The collaboration feels like it moves between utility and expression—where did you find the tension or harmony between those two?

For Oakley, true innovation has always lived at the intersection of utility and expression. Working with Swarovski amplified that dialogue—their craftsmanship introduced a new rhythm to our technical precision. The tension between cutting-edge design and luxury resolved into harmony: a bold, “pop-luxury” statement that retains Oakley’s uncompromising functionality while embracing the beauty of light as a form of personal identity. This partnership didn’t dilute either world - it refined both, redefining what happens when purpose and passion coexist.

BE@RBRICK

BE@RBRICK lives between toy and art, how did you account for the inclusion of Swarovski crystals in this balancing act?

We have been using Swarovski crystals on the front surface of BE@RBRICKs since 2016. This is because combining the values of BE@RBRICK with those of Swarovski produces a synergistic effect that exceeds the sum of its parts.

Was there a point where the sparkle risked overwhelming the simplicity of the BE@RBRICK silhouette, and how did you pull back (or decide not to)?

Since the shape of the BE@RBRICK itself contains three-dimensional curves, the reflection of light differs at each point. As a result, we believe it creates a refined brilliance that is even more sophisticated than it appears at a glance.

When light hits the figure, it becomes almost cinematic and almost alive. How conscious were you of creating an experience rather than just an object?

This time, rather than pursuing an elaborate design, we approached the project with the philosophy of “simple is best” and stayed true to the original concept. By doing so, it allowed us to fully appreciate the fundamental form.
