Editor’s Notes:

Started in 2006 by creative director Masanaka Sakao, Tatras was founded in Japan and focuses on high-end outerwear and performance down jackets. With production based in Italy, Tatras combines the best of Japanese style with unrivaled construction, cultivating a unique aesthetic that blends the designer’s roots with Italian craftsmanship.

The Tatras FW20 collection utilizes recycled and new materials to create a utilitarian aesthetic that’s both retro and modern, like shiny puffer jackets, down bomber jackets, and quilted vests. Every garment is insulated with the best goose down on the market — Polish — and contains at least 90% genuine goose down fill. For its FW20 campaign, titled "Chasing Light," the concept centered on taking the brand back to its natural origins — the Tatra Mountains — celebrating its strength through the beauty of nature.
