The Future Looks Bright In Nike's Airelons
Some eyewear completes a look. Nike Vision’s Airelon creates one.
First released in 1999, the distinctive silhouette returns with its floating-lens construction intact and its performance credentials pushed forward. The reference is nostalgic, but the execution is anything but stuck in the past.
The new Airelon collection spans four styles, led by the Airelon Force. Its semi-rim titanium frame makes the lenses appear almost suspended in place, while beta titanium wire arms keep the construction light. Adjustable silicone nose pads and grippy ergonomic temple tips provide a secure fit when standing still is not on the schedule.
The result is technical eyewear stripped to its essentials. No heavy frame. No visual noise. Just a precise silhouette that looks as fast as it feels.
The Airelon Impact brings that same design language to a performance sunglass built to accommodate prescription lenses. Because sharper vision should not require compromising on style.
Both sunglasses feature Nike Max Optics technology, combining anti-glare and anti-reflective treatments with enhanced contrast, color, and depth perception. Hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings help resist water, sweat, and smudges, keeping the view clear from the first kilometer to the finish line.
Two optical styles, the Nike 6096 and Nike 6097, complete the collection. They translate Airelon’s ultralight construction and unmistakable visual identity into frames designed for everyday wear.
Fittingly, Airelon’s first release takes place where performance eyewear belongs: in motion. On September 20, Nike Vision will introduce the collection during the Copenhagen Half Marathon, alongside a major inauguration event at The Lab showcasing its new campaign.
Airelon may have history, but it is built for what comes next.
