When the Gucci x The North Face collaboration was announced last year it sent waves through the fashion world. Those waves became bigger when Gucci shared that Niantic’s Pokémon GO app would play host to the collaboration, and then dropped a new documentary.

Aside from soon being available in-store at select Gucci locations worldwide, the Gucci x The North Face collection is now also available in-game at select PokéStops in Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America, Latin America, Asia, and Australia. The game collection, which comprises hats, T-shirts, and backpacks will only be available for a limited time.

The fact that the first major collaboration for Gucci under Alessandro Michele's tenure will also include a gaming element should come as no surprise following the recent trend for luxury fashion and video game crossovers such as Balenciaga: Age Of Tomorrow, as well as Gucci's earlier foray into gaming via a partnership with Tennis Clash.

To further commemorate the occasion, Gucci tapped artist Sean Vegezzi to create a world where beauty and function coexist in a documentary video shot in the Alps. While highlighting pieces from the collection, the film also includes conversations with Alessandro Michele and The North Face Design Manager Global Collaborations, Archives, and Special Projects, David Whetstone, as they provide insights on the collaboration. You can watch the visual below.
