Double Tap to Zoom

Yeat, Lil Uzi Vert, and A$AP Rocky are already in a lot of the same rooms — or so you'd think. Just not necessarily at the same. The trio of rap A-listers is pretty tough to nail down, and to wrangle all three in the same place would be an Olympic feat. The only sensible meeting place is virtual. In Fortnite, to be specific.

Rappers have been featured in the game’s “Icon Series” since Travis Scott hit its digital stage in 2020, but the collaborative aspect is suddenly leveling up, moving away from efforts at luxury and stepping into Supreme’s stunt-y streetwear world with the assistance of some of the biggest hip-hop talent of the 21st century.

Yeat entered the Fortnite ether in mid-October, with in-game character skins that reference his personal style, directly lifting cues that range from Nike balaclavas to the rapper’s infamous Alex Moss bell chain, which became in-game loot. That’s all pretty standard fare, but the twist takes the form of a full Yeat x Fortnite collaborative merchandise capsule that repackages deep-fried internet humor into a suite of apparel, accessories, and Supreme-coded home goods.

Standouts include a toaster that imprints a piece of bread with images of Yeat’s face; a retro rainbow dolphin graphic that reads “yeat fortnite collab” in scrolling writing — very “graphic design is my passion” — and a doubled-up T-shirt meant to be worn by two people. The crossover, which toggles the line between Gen-Alpha and Gen-Z-core, was such a big deal that its MSCHF-lite campaign was wheatpasted across New York City — and quickly torn down by Yeat diehards.

As mentioned, there’s been plenty of crossover between Fortnite and the rap world. But none of these collections so far have gone this hard on the streetwear front. Scott’s “Astronomical” Cactus Jack x Fortnite follow-up from 2024 was relegated to graphic tees, action figures, and a NERF gun. Ditto the infamous Balenciaga collab, which similarly consisted of pricey co-branded hoodies, T-shirts, and caps.

Then, there’s the music aspect. In conjunction with the merch line, Yeat dropped four of Luh Leakyz's 14 tracks on Fortnite a week before they landed on streaming services. (Maybe he was inspired by Scott premiering “THE SCOTTS” during his Astronomical stream.)

None of this is a one-off.  A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert are both confirmed to follow in Big Tonka’s footsteps, although to what extent is unclear. Uzi’s first return to Fortnite since 2024 encompasses five new skins sourced from all of his stylistic eras, while Rocky, who dons his AWGE “American Sabotage” Vest, hair curlers, and thick pearlized Ray-Bans sunglasses, appears on the next edition’s cover.

Whether or not a homegoods-heavy merch capsule is in the cards for Uzi and Rocky, only time will tell. But the collaborations in and of themselves make it clear that Fortnite is swerving onto the path paved by the likes of its proper streetwear predecessors.
