Nike’s Oldest Sneaker Takes Balletcore to the Moon
Nike's getting serious about balletcore, so much so that the brand has taken the craze to the moon (shoe).
That's right. Nike has released a ballet-coded version of its Moon Shoe. The sportswear label hasn't exactly transformed its original sneaker into a full-blown ballerina model. It keeps the signature slim, Waffle-soled look but throws in some ballet-style details.
Specifically, the latest Moon Shoes swap out the usual nylon uppers for satin materials and frilly shoelaces. It also comes in "Light Carnation," a.k.a. pink colorway, which makes the 55-year-old sneaker look even more en pointe.
It wouldn't be the first switch-a-roo with the model's materials. Nike has also dropped all-leather versions and floral mesh Moon Shoes, keeping its oldest sneaker as fresh as ever.
Nike's pink satin Moon Shoe is now available on its website for $105. It's joined by two other silky color options, "Sanddrift" and "Pencil Point."
The pink just really hits the balletcore spot.
