The North Face has, at this point, collaborated with basically anybody who’s worth collaborating with. The most amazing thing is that the brand’s collabs never miss, even if they’re completely leftfield. Take the recent The North Face x Paraboot collaboration, for example. Two brands that we’d never have put together, but a product that is weirdly attractive.

The idea of taking the chunky Paraboot sole unit and combining it with the quilted upper of The North Face slippers laughs in the face of Paraboot’s traditions and The North Face’s utilitarianism. The The North Face x Paraboot shoe is essentially a completely useless masterpiece.

The design has dominated Instagram feeds since it was announced and, understandably, has been met with divided opinions. But, love them or hate them, you won’t be able to buy them. The collaborative design will not be released to the public, as per Paraboot’s Instagram.

Luckily, though, if it's the cozy quilted upper that you’re after, The North Face slippers are readily available and vying for a spot in your fall/winter rotation. While the uppers aren’t cut from high-end leather, the insulated ripstop replacement is a lot more comfortable and a hell of a lot lighter.

Stuffed with Thermoball insulation, The North Face slippers are basically water-resistant down jackets for your feet. Better still, many versions of The North Face slippers come with a full rubber outsole, meaning that they’re not limited to at-home wear.
