'Conjuring' Prequel 'The Nun' Gets Terrifying First Trailer

Filmmaker James Wan (The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2) is set to return with a new chapter in the Conjuring universe, this week unleashing a first look at The Nun.

Predating The Conjuring, The Nun follows a troubled priest (Demian Bichir) and a novitiate who is on the verge of taking her final vows (Taissa Farmiga), as they are sent to an abbey in Romania to investigate a nun who recently committed suicide. Not only will their lives be at risk, but their faith and souls are caught in the cross hairs as they dig deeper into the order's unholy secret. They will ultimately be forced to confront the malevolent force of the same demonic nun first seen in The Conjuring 2.

Alongside Bichir and Farmiga, The Nun stars Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope, Ingrid Bisu, and Bonnie Aarons. You can look forward to the horror picture premiering September 7.
