Today Netflix shares the trailer for its new original documentary series, Unnatural Selection. The program explores the recent developments in the science of gene-editing, specifically those that defy evolution and elicit moral, social, and environmental impact questions.

Unnatural Selection closely looks at technological breakthroughs that could forever alter human existence, from disease eradication to trait selection and biohacking. To no surprise, such advancements have spawned fierce debates in terms of moral, social, and environmental implications.

Told in four parts, Netflix's new docu-series includes insights from scientists, hackers, critics, ethicists, and beneficiaries of the technologies from all over the world, all while delving into the good and possible harm that comes as a result of gene-editing.

You can watch Unnatural Selection on Netflix beginning October 18.
