Just a day before Beyoncé takes the stage during the Coldplay-headlined Super Bowl 50 halftime show, the singer drops a surprise new single "Formation," which is in fact her first new song since her Beyoncé: Platinum Edition album from November 2014. Just a week after releasing the video together with Coldplay for "Hymn For The Weekend," Beyoncé delivers another video.

The track was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It. Along with the track Beyoncé also updated her online store with clothing and merchandise, featuring many of the instantly quotable lyrics from "Formation." She is expected to perform the song live today during the Super Bowl 50 Halftime show, but that has not been confirmed yet.
