Gosha Rubchinskiy has collaborated with Burberry on a new capsule collection, just unveiled at the designer’s rave-themed SS18 show at Saint Petersburg’s DK Svyazi in Russia. The project, which welcomes the help of chief creative and chief executive officer Christopher Bailey, in turn boasts eight pieces, highlighted by new interpretations of the British label’s signature trench coat, ultimately reimagined in oversized shapes.

“I have been a big supporter and admirer of Gosha’s creative work for a long time,” stated Bailey. “He has an innate cultural sensibility and I was honored when he asked us to collaborate together for his new collection. His reinterpretation of some of our most iconic designs, feels exciting, new and relevant whilst paying enormous respect to their British cultural heritage.”

Rubchinskiy then added, “Burberry has always symbolized the epitome of classic British style to me. Their timeless pieces are the perfect balance to our modern streetwear, creating a great mix. I’m very happy with the result of our collaborative work.”

In addition, the Russian designer’s show revealed collaborative headwear alongside British milliner Stephen Jones, as well as new styles from Gosha’s joint effort with adidas.

Rubchinskiy and adidas are also working on a larger, longterm initiative coinciding with the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
