The previous Star Wars Battlefront game did a lot of things right, but it was criticized for not having a lot of depth and the lack of a story-driven single player campaign. Well, EA Dice has listened to its fans, and brings us a major look at a very promising and visually stunning campaign in the latest trailer above.
In Battlefront II we play as Commander Iden Versio of the Inferno Squad, who is #TeamImperialForces, and is coming after the Rebel Alliance. The game picks up at the end of Return of the Jedi, but showing the perspective of the Imperial army suddenly thrust into disarray, after the fall of Emperor Palpatine and their most advanced weapon, the Death Star, destroyed (again).
There are many glimpses of iconic Star Wars characters and scenes throughout the trailer, including Luke Skywalker, Leia and The Force Awakens‘ Maz Kanata, space battles, and a chase with the Millennium Falcon. The campaign is set to expand throughout the original trilogy and into the latest movie installments.
Star Wars Battlefront II is set to release this November 17 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
In other ‘Star Wars’ news, the standalone Han Solo film finally has a movie title.
