While no longer an official collaboration in the traditional sense, Kiko Kostadinov and his design studio continue to leave their mark on Asics footwear. The latest release developed in tandem with the designer and his creative team consists of a series of seasonally-appropriate colorways of the Gel-Nimbus 9. The Kiko Kostadinov Studio redesigned the traditional trainer pulling inspiration from the concept of outdoor exploration. Color palettes draw heavily from scenic landscapes and encounters with the sea to deliver aesthetically pleasing iterations that encapsulate the vibe of the warm weather season. The Y2K-flavored sneaker is made with a layered mesh and synthetic leather upper, with details like extended tongue loops adding to the silhouette’s rugged look. Asics’ signature Gel cushioning technology is then implemented to ensure a comfy wear each step of the way.
