John Elliott’s Converse collaboration largely draws from his California upbringing and immersion into the surf and skate culture of the area. A pivotal player in said scenes, the Skidgrip was recently brought back and updated with a distinctive 30-degree sloped midsole to give it a modern twist. Elliott’s take on the archival Converse silhouette is informed by his unique textile approach, as the upper of the shoe mimics the texture and color of aged patina with tones that come together in an organic pattern. This is the Skidgrip like we’ve never seen, and it certainly isn’t your dad’s skate shoe anymore.
