Sometimes, all it takes is basic colorways to make a good shoe. Exhibit A: adidas' black-and-white Handball Spezial loafer.

Don't get me wrong. The adidas loafer looks good as-is in many colorways and even suede versions. But there's something classic and classy about the black-and-white pairs.

It lands with sleek black leather uppers, black rubber soles, and white accents (the Three Stripes and penny loafer strap). It's not doing a lot, but it's doing just enough in its suit and tie.

The Handball Spezial sneaker is so good at being a loafer. The rest, like the dapper charm, comes naturally.
