adidas SPEZIAL

A staple of casual subculture, adidas Spezial is set to make a full-blown return for Pre-Spring 2022 with a carefully considered line-up of footwear and apparel.

Back in October of 2021, adidas Spezial made a triumphant return to form for C.P. Company's 50th-anniversary celebrations. The duo, who have shared a natural subcultural connection throughout the five decades, came together to launch an exclusive capsule of clobber that the old guard would be proud of.

Of course, the collection was in heavy demand, especially given England defender Luke Shaw's stamp of approval on the collaboration's campaign. Both the 50 Fili Italian camouflage jacket and adidas Italia sneaker were swept up with haste, naturally leaving fans hungry for more.

That hunger is about to be satiated thanks to the adidas Spezial Pre-Spring 2022, which is loaded to the nines with functional details and contemporary takes on classic sportswear styles.

A carefully curated combination of military, outdoors, and sportswear aesthetics, culminating in styles like the Barrowland Jacket.

Taking inspiration from the Spezial SS18 Horwich Anorak, the piece is function-heavy with plenty of technical detailing and sealed seams. Additionally, the Trongate Jacket is rooted in utility, with a multi-pocket chest, mesh lining, and, once again, sealed seams.

No Spezial collection would be complete without a heavy dosage of footwear. Pre-Spring 2022 includes a total of six styles across five silhouettes, including the Moscrop SPZL, Winterhill SPZL, Lothertex SPZL, Carnforth SPZL, and two colorways of the Barrowland SPZL.

Much like the C.P. campaign, the brand's footballing roots are celebrated, with visuals starring Arsenal's Kieran Tierney alongside Leicester City's Hamza Choudhury and Alfie Devine.

The adidas Spezial Pre-Spring 2022 collection is set to arrive on February 3 via the Confirmed app and Wellgosh.
