A Kind of Guise
1 / 6

Regular readers might well be aware that A Kind of Guise is a firm favorite of mine. Traditional and sophisticated in equal measure, the Munich-based label is everything a style-savvy individual needs nowadays.

From knitwear and sweaters, to suiting and outerwear (and even coffee roasting), AKOG’s ever-growing list of attributes is seemingly never-ending, especially if its Souvenir collection is anything to go by.

Following the drip-feeding of its Fall/Winter 2022 collection, AKOG is ramping things up just in time for the Holidays by launching its aptly titled, well, Holiday collection.

Designed with the intention of brightening up your mood and wardrobe throughout the darker season, the Holiday collection remains in-keeping with the American Workwear vibes of mainline FW22.

Botanical prints and floral patterns make up a range of the shirt offering, as Kura Cardigans, quilted Marani Overshirts, and lightweight button-down polos arrive in the lush shades of “Grasshopper” and “Canyon Clay.”

Outerwear extends to four popular styles: two Deniro Coats in textured, heavy wool materials, the Mcnamara Mac in a catchy houndstooth pattern, and the Boulder Blouson from a hand-woven Harris Tweed wool and Steiff teddy collar.

The collection is rounded up by two signet rings, soft leather, and knitted accessories, including two scarves, each with a silk and cashmere side, as well as the Diary scarf.

The aforementioned scarf was hand-knitted by experienced Italian ladies over several days in small stages, with each color section marking a new part of the day, making the scarf a kind of companion in its creation process.

In truth, the entire collection is a kind of companion, which is a part of AKOG’s overall appeal, if you ask me. But you don’t have to.
