As 20th Century Fox continues its generous roll-out of clips from upcoming blockbuster Alien: Covenant, we have now been treated to another prologue delving into the film's background.

The short is set aboard an abandoned engineer vessel and follows crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender) after the events of Prometheus. While it lacks some of the oomph and all-out action of previous visuals, fans of the aforementioned flop movie will be intrigued to see what went down following the rather confusing denouement.

According to its official synopsis, Alien: Covenant follows "the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world."

Directed by Ridley Scott, additional cast appearances come from the likes of Guy Pearce, James Franco and Katherine Waterston. Watch the clip above, and catch the movie when it lands in theaters on May 19.

In other news, here's everything coming to and leaving Netflix next month.
