Highsnobiety

Coming up next Monday, July 16, Amazon Prime Day is a 36-hour sale that will feature over one million deals. The minefield of discounts available exclusively on Amazon is something of a Black Friday in July situation, with bargains to be found in tech, music, film, and much more.

Kicking off at 3 p.m. ET, Highsnobiety will be bringing you all the best from Amazon on the day, so be sure to check in on our Shopping vertical for regular updates as and when we see a deal that we think you’ll like.

Until then, here’s everything you need to know about the day to optimize your purchasing time.

Who can shop?

Last year, Prime Day deals were available to those in the U.S., UK, Spain, Mexico, Japan, India, Italy, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, and Austria. This year, the day reaches all of the above, as well as shoppers in Australia, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Prime Day is only open to Amazon Prime subscribers, so if you’re not a paying member, you won’t be able to take advantage of the discounts. Amazon Prime yearly subscription is currently $119, with benefits including free and faster delivery times, access to Amazon’s streaming services, and Prime-specific discounts.

Students also qualify for a special membership rate, while those who haven’t already tried Amazon Prime can opt for a 30-day free trial. Right now, new sign-ups can also receive $10 off their first Prime Day purchase. Click the link below to get set up.

The deals

To start with, there are the obvious deals on Amazon’s range of own-brand products including Fire TV, tablets, Kindle e-readers and Echo speakers.

Aside from those, there will be lightning deals in pretty much every category popping up on the Amazon website throughout the sale, with the best discounts of years past coming from TVs, audio equipment, and games consoles.

We’ll be here to filter through all the best savings to be had on the day, checking markdowns in audio, gaming, TVs, drones, health & fitness, grooming, and anything else we think you'll like.

In the meantime...

There are Prime exclusive deals dropping every day in the lead up to next Monday. Here are some of our current favorites to take advantage of now.

  • $100 off the Amazon Echo Show

  • 66% off a 3-month Audible Gold membership

  • 3 months of Kindle Unlimited for $0.99

  • 4 months of Amazon music for $0.99

  • A 6-month free trial for Prime Student membership
