According to reports, 2019 could see Apple unveil a high-end version of its popular Airpods as well as a studio-quality, over-ear headphones.

Bloomberg writes that people familiar with the matter expect the Cupertino, California based company to add noise-cancellation and water resistance to its Airpods, as well as increasing the range the earphones work away from an iPhone or iPad.

The water resistance is reportedly being added to protect against rain and perspiration, meaning they will still not be able to be used while swimming.

Retail is expected to be more than the current $159 Apple charges for the existing Airpods.

The rumored over-ear headphones are reportedly supposed to compete with the likes of Bose and Sennheiser and would be offered as a higher-end alternative to Apple’s Beats headphones.
