We've seen a few Nike SB Air Force 1 Low sneakers this year, but Yuto Horigome's new-old spin is special.

What makes the skater's collaboration so good is that it's not your typical Air Force 1. He essentially rebuilds the original Air Force 1 from 1982 and makes it skateable.

Most notably, Horigome's pairs feature the same mesh-and-leather construction as the OG Forces, plus skate-ready upgrades like extra padding and a lowered footbed.

It even comes in the same light grey colorway with vintage-style touches, staying super genuine to the original Air Force 1. Horigome clearly knows ball.

History aside, the design aligns with the Olympic skater's tastes. He typically dishes out sneakers with simple, albeit tasteful, schemes, as evident with his suede matcha-inspired sneakers and greyed-out Dunks.

With his Air Force 1 skate shoes, he stays true to himself and the model's roots.

The Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Air Force 1 Low finally releases on September 15 on Nike's website. The shoes will retail for $125.
