Best Nights VC Is Putting Its Money Where The Party’s At
Money—it makes the world go ‘round. You can have a great idea, an amazing concept, and the people to pull it off, but if you don’t have funding, even the hardest entrepreneurs can find themselves up against a brick wall. And in the ephemeral world of nightlife, this can be an even harder obstacle to overcome.
For those who don’t know, here’s a quick venture capital 101: VC is money that helps you grow your startup in exchange for equity and a long-term partnership. For cultural creators, it can mean going from just a local name to a global star, without compromising on your ideals. That is, of course, if you choose the right partner. This is where Best Nights VC comes in.
The phrase “venture capital” probably doesn’t conjure images of dance floors, community-led art shows, and underground music collectives. But here’s the truth: venture capital doesn't have to kill the vibe. In fact, when done right, it can amplify it. Powered by Jägermeister, BNVC is the first impact-driven fund actually built for people shaping the culture for real.
BNVC believes that nightlife is a crucial cultural force. “Nightlife is a vital space for creativity, self-expression, and community. It's where cultural movements start and evolve,” explains BNVC Managing Director Lorrain de Silva. “Our role is to enable, empower and fund the builders and visionaries who are pushing boundaries.” The key questions are: “Is this elevating nightlife? Is it pushing a conversation forward? Is this creating an impact in real-life connections?” The investment strategy focuses on “Best Night” not just metaphorically, but literally. That means supporting parties created by and for marginalized communities, daytime dance floors and fostering intentional connections rather than consumption. BNVC’s roster of investments includes everything from event tech to music platforms, nightlife infrastructure tools, and creator-driven social apps.
This is exactly the energy that drew in the founders of Plots, an in-person social network for discovering events and meeting people in your city. When they met BNVC during LA Tech Week, it wasn’t the panel that sealed the deal, it was the late-night hang in an In-N-Out parking lot. “It didn’t feel like a pitch,” says Plots co-founder Avery Kokka. “It felt like we were already teammates.” A few months later, BNVC invested, and since then have actually shown up, helping Plots expand across the U.S., connect globally, and stay true to their vision.
The approach is simple: fund the things that bring people together and back founders who actually live the culture they’re shaping. BNVC writes tickets between €300K and €1M, backing early-stage startups from late pre-seed to Series A. They’ve invested in 17 companies around the world, including Soundboks (a bluetooth performance speaker), XCEED (a nightlife ticketing platform), and un:hurd (a music marketing platform for independent artists). Together, BNVC’s portfolio is responsible for creating over 25 million Best Nights every year, and counting.
At the end of the day, Best Nights VC just wants us to have a good time. No clipping anyone's wings and no corporate-ifying your vision. Think you’re building something that belongs in the future of nightlife? Find out more about BNVC here.
