Clarks & GOLF WANG Make Their Love Official
Tyler, The Creator has made no secret of his love for Clarks shoes. If you happen to peer down at the multi-talented musician’s feet, there’s a good chance he’ll have a pair of the British label’s shoes on.
Now, through his fashion label GOLF WANG, Tyler has made his love of Clarks official through a collaboration that covers its signature Wallabee model with lots (and I mean lots) of love hearts.
The three-piece GOLF WANG x Clarks collection sees the moccasin-inspired shoe have its leather upper embellished with small love hearts repeatedly embossed onto its leather upper.
And, in case that isn’t enough love hearts for you, there’s also a heart-shaped tag that hangs from the laces featuring gold GOLF branding.
The shoes are available in three colors — black, light pink, and mint green (the latter looking similar to both a late-2010s Stüssy collab and a pair Tyler has been spotted wearing) — arriving on July 27 on the GOLF WANG website and the brand’s Los Angeles, New York, and London flagship locations.
The arrival of this collection has been a long time coming. At the start of the year, Tyler teased a Clarks x GOLF WANG shoebox (which was also covered in love hearts, of course) that confirmed there’s something in the works.
The musician has a long history of creating eye-catching footwear, starting with Vans back in the early days (when Odd Future was still around and times were simpler) through to his many Converse releases and technical sandals with Suicoke.
Now, Tyler is adding a new footwear partner to the mix in the form of Clarks and, as one of the leading figures pushing for a post-sneaker society, it’s a partnership that’s a natural fit.
