Model: Geo Forma

Release Date: December 20

Editor's Notes: Last time we spoke to Samuel Ross about A-COLD-WALL*'s continued relationship with Converse he said, "our joint products have become far more radical," and the brand's latest release proves just that.

Just like its first-ever collaboration, its newest model re-interprets Converse's classic Chuck 70 but this time it has gotten distinctly more futuristic.

Reinventing an instantly-recognizable shoe into something that looks like it's from a sci-fi movie, the Geo Forma introduces technical fabrics, an exaggerated sole unit, and utilitarian details into the mix.

First teased by Lancey Foux in an editorial for 032c, ACW* confirmed on Instagram that the shoe was part of a collaboration with Converse and it has now provided us with official images.

Continuing a theme from previous drops, the new model opts not to use laces but instead has a zip-up closure on the upper which is described by the brand as a "stretch bootie" that fits tightly to the foot.

Laminated onto the lower part of the bootie, polyester-spandex-ripstop acts as a mudguard and joins onto a chunky recycled outsole that gives the shoe its bulky shape.

Releasing in two colorways on December 20, the sneakers are photographed along with new collaborative clothing for the promotional lookbook. This includes everything from a puffer vest that leaves the upper back exposed to a full-length sleeveless one-piece in crinkled grey fabric — however, there's no word on when (or if) these will release.

After creating advanced new models such as the laceless Aeon Active CX and the space-age-looking Sponge Crater, Converse and ACW* have once again managed to propel us into the future with this sneaker.

At a time when sneaker collaborations are aplenty and, if I'm being honest, sometimes verging on being lazy, you know that you're going to get something genuinely exciting when these two link up.
