Editor's Notes: Wacko Maria is no stranger to bold prints, especially of the animal variation. So, when announcing that it's linking up with British shoemaker Dr. Martens for the first time, you shouldn't be too surprised that it involves shoes decked out in an all-over leopard print pattern.

For a brand that's known to create camp-collar shirts with Jean-Michel Basquiat's face turned into a repeated all-over graphic and deliver python prints on Suicoke sandals, it's kinda the least we can expect.

Bound together by their joint connections to music scenes and subcultures, this release from Dr. Martens and Wacko Maria takes on the classic 1461 model, which was first released all the way back in 1961, and gives it two different eye-catching finishes.

While both colorways come with a hairy animal-print upper made to resemble the skin of a leopard (don't worry, no actual leopards were harmed in the making of these shoes), you do get the option of either white and black or orange and black.

This hairy and eye-catching upper sits on top of the classic Dr. Martens sole unit that we're all familiar with: a ribbed black midsole finished with a yellow Goodyear welt stitch.

This shoe adds to DM's consistent collaborative output, which recently saw Supreme take a similar animal-inspired route with cow print loafers, and add a new collaborator to its ranks. For those willing to take a walk on the wild side, these are set to release on August 4.
