Gramicci Is Taking Cozy Winterwear To New Levels
There's only one thing worse than being stuck in cold weather and that's not having the right gear to deal with it. And as winter is approaching thick and fast (yup, it's already November) Gramicci has just the stuff to help ensure you're dressed appropriately.
Having been launched in the early 80s by Mike Graham to create clothing suitable for rock climbing, the label has spent over 40 years perfecting the art of creating robust outdoor gear and, in the process, got itself a reputation as a leader in high-performance fashion design.
For FW22, everything that it has learned over those years seems to be on display and the end result is a selection of garments that doesn't just include waterproof technologies and warm sweats but that is near-enough redefining what it means to create cozy winter wear.
For the many gorpcore fans out there, there are countless hiking-appropriate bangers to get excited over.
Beginning with the fleece jackets, a gorp-y winter staple, the label has focused on fluffy fleece for this season as a canvas for experimentation. While the Stussy 8 Ball Fleece continues to build its fame on TikTok, I'd argue that Gramicci has a serious contender for the fleece of the season with its swirl jacket that has a squiggly-lined pattern running down it. Available in either a natural beige color or navy blue, it even comes with matching trousers for those wanting to get seriously cozy.
And if that isn't enough fleece for you, then there's also a reversible fleece vest with an even bolder print. The sleeveless design almost looks like it's trying to play an optical illusion on you with its different-sized black and white square pattern.
Along with fleece, the label is also using fluffy layers of down to keep you super insulated this winter — and don't be fooled into thinking that just means it's releasing puffer jackets.
While it does have a voluminous down-filled puffer jacket with a boxy fit in its outerwear arsenal, it's got vests, scarves, and even baseball caps that are made from technical ripstop nylon which encases lightweight down. I mean, as far as winter accessories go, you can't really beat a scarf and a cap that have stolen their construction from a puffer jacket.
All of this arrives before we can even mention the waterproof outerwear we've covered previously, all of which is made from PERTEX SHIELD fabric.
