Double Tap to Zoom

HOKA really has thrown out the rulebook with the Skyward X, the latest chunky sneaker to join HOKA’s ever-growing arsenal of highly technical footwear.

Instead of honing in on one specific usage for its new sneaker, HOKA has created a true all-rounder shoe that has the tools to tackle anything.

Pushing soft and smooth to the absolute maximum, HOKA’s plush Skyward X shoe is the epitome of ultimate everyday comfort thanks to a footbed stacked with cushioning that provides a truly forgiving impact.

Plump sneakers, though, is the norm for HOKA. But the revolutionary suspension system that the Skyward X houses within its swole midsole certainly isn’t.

Said suspension system features a convex carbon-fiber plate that allows the shoe to compress and spring back with each step. Which, in layman’s terms, means: high energy return, for low energy given.

But this wouldn’t be a HOKA shoe if we didn’t mention how damn tidy the Skyward X looks, too.

Like a cross-contaminated concoction of HOKA’s Bondi and Clifton (sprinkled with a little Rocket X), HOKA’s Skyward X — with its performance, comfort, and good-looking qualities laid out bare — is the true meaning of a shoe for all occasions.

Release information for HOKA’s Skyward X currently stretches as far as “Coming Soon” on the brand’s website. Although it’s worth mentioning that this type of teaser tends to be followed by a release soon after.

For now, HOKA looks set to add yet another shoe to add to its list of exceedingly great-looking HOKAs. Whenever it eventually drops, anyway.
